“The idea is that it offers an alternative to those players who might struggle with the larger bore of the G1 neck, that is supplied with the YAS82Z and YAS875EX. Less experienced players often struggle with the pitching, particularly at the high end of the scale when playing a G1 (even though it has a lovely open sound) so Yamaha has designed a compromise neck that isn’t quite as open as the G1 – it still has a full scope of sound, but the tuning is more centered around the upper register.”
