Staff Review
“The Selmer S80 is a great choice for anyone looking to for a more controlled and reserved sound without losing character. Generally, it sits on the warmer side of mouthpieces, but a little brighter and less resistant than most other Selmer ‘classical’ mouthpieces. Playing the C* offered a wide range of dynamics, all the way down to pianissimo, with a lot of clarity and depth across the range. At wider tip openings this may also be a good choice for jazz players who are looking for a warmer sound, and perhaps a little more resistance. The mouthpiece is resonant across the range and offers a rich sound without being overly complex. The S80 is a great mouthpiece for classical students looking for their first upgrade, alongside advancing students and professionals looking for a consistent mouthpiece with an adaptable sound.” – Lucy
