The ideal beginner saxophone setup!
Yamaha 4c Alto Mouthpiece
Made out of high-quality phenol resin (plastic) and features a design based on the top-grade Custom series. They are highly consistent in specifications and playing quality, and offer excellent value for their price. The facing of this series is slightly shorter than that of the Custom series making them easier to play and easier for beginning students to achieve a characteristic-rich sound. They also are available in a variety of sizes, to suit the needs of players of many different styles.
Rovner Dark
A durable and easy-to-use ligature that features a warm and resonant playing experience
Daddario Royal
Very much the ‘standard’ reed for a large proportion of players. These are filed, relatively bright, and (potentially) loud. A lot of players start off their careers using these. They’re something of a ‘blank canvas’, responsive, and flexible but without much character of their own- and, as such, work very well for beginners.
BG Mouthpiece Patches
As well as providing extra comfort and helping to avoid teeth marks on your mouthpiece, the often misunderstood value of using a mouthpiece patch is that it alters the way you hear your sound! As the player you feel a lot of the vibrations through your teeth and skull, so by dampening these vibrations, you’re able to hear more of your natural sound with your ears.
