Great for players looking for a more focused vintage tone
Insipred by vintage franch saxophones, the System 76 has a more subtle focused tone compared to the 66R.
Description
The System 76 alto has an increased bore and bell size, producing a warm full-bodied sound that plays in tune throughout the octaves. The key work has been tweaked on this latest edition for improved playing comfort. It feels robust, yet has a smooth fluid action.
The Vintage Dark Lacquer (DK), although having a similar tone quality and core sound, seems to have warmer subtleties compared to the brilliance of the gold lacquer. It has extra fine engraving on the bell & bow and beautiful abalone shell key touches.

I had played the same saxophone since I was 17, an old 1936 Selmer, which seems to often need tweaking and maintenance. So because of this I have searched for a long time for another horn that I felt confident enough in to play when the original was in the repair shop. I had looked at many options, vintage and new, but had never found anything that I liked. It was either a vintage horn with a beautiful sound and major intonation/control problems or a modern one with all the accuracy but a sound with no character. Then I tried the system 76, and I haven’t been that instantly impressed with an instrument ever! Jeff King
