Time for change – a new cut and no more waste!

Possibly the most exciting release yet from a highly acclaimed ambassador for saxophone education and products, BetterSax.  These reeds have been developed in conjunction with Marca reeds based in the south of France, the sweet spot for growing perfect reed cane.  It has taken many years for Jay to get exactly what he wanted but it has been worth the wait as these reeds offer a beautifully balanced sound and something slightly different from what we’ve been used to so far.

Of huge importance to BetterSax was laying down a marker for the rest of the reed-making industry in terms of reducing plastic waste.  Traditionally we are used to receiving reeds in little plastic sleeves that cannot be recycled.  And not only that but they can also often be wrapped in foil or cellophane.  All packaging with the BetterSax reeds is made from cardboard – the sleeves, the box – and there is no plastic or cellophane in sight!

And finally, the BetterSax Jazz Cut reeds are made from organically sourced cane, meaning that there are no fertilisers or pesticides used in the plantation.
