In my opinion these are one of the best choices for playing classical saxophone, and they have been my go to reed for playing in that style for many years. If you’re coming to these reeds having played Vandoren Traditionals, you may find these a bit more resistant. So it might be worth initially trying half a strength down. I find this added resistance means that when pushed, the scope of colours available from this reed is much more extensive compared with traditionals. They also take quite a bit more punishment and therefore last longer! As a doubler, I’m also quite fond of these reeds on clarinet.
