Staff Review

In comparison to the Profile AP3 for Alto, I found the SP3 for Soprano to be a very different beast. It took me a few minutes to adapt to the shortness of facing (since I am more accustomed to medium to medium long facing soprano pieces), but after a few minutes of noodling I found getting around on this mouthpiece to be effortless. The sound is BIG! And I really got the feeling that I could project to concert hall levels with very little effort. The articulation and response was also excellent across the whole range of the instrument, even into the extremely high register up to high G (and even beyond!). Another fine example from Vandoren! If you’re after a top quality classical piece then this ticks all the boxes, although I could quite easily see this being used as a good all-round piece as well. Very impressed! – Oren
