Due to popular demand, the legendary Blue mouthpiece is back in a new tip opening!
The hottest ebonite mouthpieces in the line. Designed with a small chamber, a high baffle, and a big bore for an increased sound impact and edgy tone comparable to metal mouthpieces. Extremely versatile: from hot jazz to blues to funk to rock. This narrower tip makes for a more easy-blowing mouthpiece.
A28 – Particularly recommended for smooth jazz, funk, soul, R&B, and other contemporary styles. A bright and focussed sound.
STAFF REVIEW
Jumbo Javas are made with a somewhat different design agenda than most ebonite pieces. The Jumbo is an ebonite that sounds like a metal piece. Bright, loud & with plenty of ‘kick’ to them. Despite this, they are extremely easy to play and feel quite unusually free-blowing. For power and projection, these are in the same league as metal ‘pieces such as Dukoff or Berg Larsen (plus, like other high baffle pieces, they are great for altissimo playing). They’re not just screamers however, with a little practice it is quite possible to ‘tame’ them and get a full, warm tone from their sax. An ideal choice for blues, rock, fusion or the extrovert end of the big band spectrum. [email protected]
