Several years in the making, the Otto Link Vintage mouthpiece recaptures ‘the sound’ of early Otto Links. A combination of changes both inside and out; body shape, bore, chamber, baffle, side rails and tuning, recaptures the Otto Link sound of yesteryear, setting it apart from the current Otto Link. STAFF REVIEW
“A quick check over this mouthpiece gives a good idea of what you’re dealing with here. This mouthpiece has huge chamber- significantly larger than Link’s other ‘big chamber’ model- the New York. A play test confirmed this- this ‘piece has a huge, dark tone more reminiscent of some sort of ebonite ‘piece than a metal one. The response from top to bottom was smooth and even- with a surprisingly lively and robust altissimo. Stanley Turrentine or Lester Young style players should be able to immediately relate to this design.” J[email protected]
